Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) is an advanced endoscopic procedure used to treat kidney stones located inside the kidney. During the procedure  a flexible ureteroscope is passed through the natural urinary tract, allowing the surgeon to access the kidney without any cuts or incisions.

A laser is then used to break the stones into tiny fragments  which are either removed or passed naturally through urine.
